Top 100 Places To Work 2014

We are so excited to announce that for the 2nd year in a row we have been included in the Top 100 Places To Work 2014, in the Dallas Morning News. Cornea Associates of Texas was ranked 1st in the Small Company category. Dr. Gelender was also recognized as being one of the best CEOs in DFW.
Last year was our first year to be eligible for the Top 100, because we reached over 50 employees. We were informed we were nominated by our employees as one of the Top 100 places to work in DFW. From there, every single member of our team was surveyed by Workplace Dynamics, LLC. To continue through the evaluation process, 35% of team members had to respond. Cornea had a response rate of 85%, thanks to our committed team!
We are so appreciative of our fantastic team! Without our employees who genuinely had great things to say about us, we would not be nominated for the 2nd year in a row, much less be in 1st place in the Small Company category! Here are some of the things they said about us:

Last year, Cornea Associates added a Plano office to ones in Dallas and Fort Worth and plans to expand all three next year. Employees who work for Dr. Gelender gave two thumbs up to the statement: I have confidence in the leader of this company.”
Dr. Gelender performed a Lasik procedure on a patient at the Dallas location as ophthalmic assistant Carline Murat helped during Dallas Morning News' visit with us. They said of Cornea Associates that we have “A laser focus on employees: You’ll see serious medicine but also glimpses of fun.”
Our team made a great impression on the Dallas Morning News crew who came out to visit. “This ophthalmology practice, which specializes in Lasik surgery, gave out quarterly awards to its employees at a trampoline park and held a scavenger hunt at the State Fair of Texas. ‘Every other quarter, they take us out somewhere fun during business hours,’ one employee told us.
‘Painting With a Twist, Studio Movie Grill, Topgolf, the State Fair of Texas, etc. Their generosity doesn’t stop there. They give toward our HSA insurance and our retirement funds.’ Cornea Associates gives out awards for perfect attendance, teamwork, customer service and the highly coveted My Boss Thinks I’m Kind of a Big Deal award. In return, employees think their company is kind of a big deal, too.” They even followed us to our outing at Pinot’s Palette and took pictures of our fun experience there! “Employees spotted plenty to laugh about in a selfie taken in an afternoon outing to a painting party.”
This past Friday, we took our awesome group of team members to Refain Brazillian Steakhouse for a celebratory dinner of being 1st in Small business Top 100 this year! We could't have done it without them! We took two party buses to the location and enjoyed a lot of great food!
Our physicians gave beautiful speeches of how much they love our team. Dr. McCall gave a particularly incredible speech, mentioning by name and thanking all 50+ team members by memory! What a fun night it was!
