Welcome our Newest Associate!
Cornea Associates of Texas is pleased to announce our newest associate, Dr. Joshua Zaffos!
Dr. Zaffos is now seeing patients in our Dallas and Fort Worth locations. He comes to us from the Medical College of Georgia where he earned his medical degree, followed by Ophthalmology training at the Kreiger Eye Institute at Sinai Hospital of Baltimore. He completed his fellowship in cornea/refractive surgery at the Gavin Herbert Eye Institute at the University of California, Irvine.
Following his fellowship, Dr. Zaffos is specially trained and able to perform the most advanced techniques in corneal transplantation such as endothelial keratoplasty (DMEK, DSAEK) and laser-assisted/conventional Lamellar Keratoplasty/Penetrating Keratoplasty. His training also extends to specialty in refractive surgery, secondary (scleral-fixated) intraocular lens placement, pupilloplasty/anterior segment reconstruction, conventional and femtosecond laser-assisted cataract surgery, and, of course, medical and surgical management of ocular surface disease.
Dr. Zaffos is happily married to his wife, Lauren, who was a registered nurse (RN) for 8 years with the US Army. They stay busy with daughters Elizabeth (4) and Julianna (2), but when he’s not spending time with them, Dr. Zaffos enjoys exercising, cooking, and playing percussion. He’s excited to be moving back closer to extended family and residing in the hometown of his favorite NFL team; the Dallas Cowboys!
We hope our patients are as excited as we are to welcome him to the Cornea Associates family.
