Safety During an Office Appointment in a COVID-19 Environment
Question:
Can I be sure that the office visit for my eye exam will be safe?
Answer:
Our goal is to take steps to make your office visit as safe as possible for both you and our staff. Prior to or upon your arrival, you will be screened for risk factors for COVID-19 (fever check, history of symptoms, history of exposure and travel history). We will limit your contact with other individuals by enforcing social distancing principles (non-essential family members stay in car, increased space in waiting area, and expedited transfer to and from exam room). Patients and staff will be required to have a protective cover in place over their nose and mouth and to utilize frequent hand washing and/or use of hand disinfectants. Our staff will perform frequent "wipe downs" of all office surfaces routinely throughout the clinic day. These steps are unprecedented, but necessary to increase safety for all.
